House Nin

Leader: Hen Nin- A squat, ever-smiling tabaxi with a booming laugh and a nose for milk. Known for his pastel robes and uncanny ability to tell the breed of any creature by smell alone.

Great House: House Dinn

Province: Emburn

Economy: House Nin is famous (and infamous) for its livestock innovation. Their estate is a rolling sprawl of tangled barns, corrals, and milking platforms filled with creatures both mundane and monstrous. They produce a dizzying variety of animal products: milk, cheese, hides, bones, and exotic fats. Among their more infamous breeds are the milkable Strex (a small, selectively bred tyrannosaur), Moonster (A cow like chimera with parts of goats and wyrms) and even, it is rumored, Minotaur Serfs.

Their products are popular among House Dinn’s war machine, often used in field rations, poultices, and trade with more remote provinces. Their cheese alone is sold across the Oligarchy in wax-sealed bricks of pungent flavor and questionable texture.

Military: House Nin lacks a strong martial tradition, relying on paid House Do-Dis guards and favors from House Sheer to protect their holdings. Their own estate guards mostly focus on keeping livestock from escaping rather than repelling attackers.

Culture:
House Nin embodies the phrase “organized chaos.” Their estate is a constant lowing, mooing, screeching cacophony, but beneath the surface lies strict breeding records, generations of animal husbandry lore, and a well-run economy. The house is pragmatic and ruthless in trade, known to undercut competitors with surplus dairy or by flooding local markets with off-brand "cheese-inspired" goods.

Most of the household’s minor nobility are covered in straw or scratches at any given time.

Their sigil (a pale pail overflowing with milk) is seen as a joke by some and a warning by many more

History: Originally a small noble ranching family specializing in monster breeding, House Nin rose to prominence during a famine in the province of Emburn. When food shortages struck, Mela Nin (Hen Nin's ancestor) introduced emergency Strex milk to local supply chains. It's long lasting and nourishing, yet questionably textured nature being able to hold the province over. It was a bold, terrifying, and lucrative move. House Dinn took notice, offering them official backing in exchange for loyalty and a steady supply of exotic rations.

Since then, House Nin has aggressively expanded, incorporating odd livestock and experimental hybrids into its repertoire. Their alliance with House Sheer formed naturally, as silk and leather pair well with cheese and milk based soaps in trade caravans, and both rely heavily on serf labor and harsh animal control methods.

Whispers persist that House Nin has dabbled in alchemy to maintain milk production during lean years, and that some of their creatures can… talk, though scream might be a accurate word. But no one’s proven anything.
