De-Viner
Names: The creeping vine, The Green Hunger, The Patient plant
Appearance: A plant like varient of the infamous Roper, this plant monster appears to be nothing more than a thick patch of foliage in the already crowded jungle of the eastern oligarchy. It lies in wait among the canopy, allowing its long vine like tentacles to hang down to the jungle floor. One of the few things that locals that share it's land have been able to spot to distinguish them from mere overgrowth is the way the vines all terminate at a single clump of leaves, and the extremely keen eyed have been able to spot a single green eye peering from beneath it all
Ecology: This creature is mainly located in the eastern jungles of the Oligarchy, such as the provinces of Houndwich And Moonband, but they can be found in the lands of House Charon as well. They live a mostly sedentary lifestyle, waiting in ambush with their vine like tentacles hanging loosely reaching down to the jungle floor. In this state, they look almost like any other patch of foliage, with only those familiar with them being able to pick out the hidden signs. When these vines are touched, they begin to excrete an extremely sticky sap-like substance that sticks the victim to the vine. The vine is quickly pulled up to the central mass of the De-viner where it is torn apart into smaller chunks and slowly digested over several days
Cultural impact: Due to their practically invisible status, the De-viner has long been a problem for all who settle in their lands. For unknown reasons, the De-viner tends to settle on the outskirts of smaller settlements. This has lead to a verity of differing ways that the ruling Noble Houses have delt with their presence. House Charon orders it's Serfs to patrol the jungles, leading to many deaths each month. House Barkann ordered the surrounding jungle be burnt back for settlement edges.
House Nacioun employs skilled members of House Nerr to hunt and destroy them
