C10-95-03-03 - Ambassador Expelled

Following the recent revelations about an elven noble, Elamaer Daekiir, imposing fictional tariffs on those trading with the Kingdom of the Forest, the Stonesmiths have been tirelessly seeking out those conspiring with him. The investigation unearthed proof that the Ambassador from that kingdom not only knew about Elamaer’s activities, he was also actively involved in the deception.
While there were many calls for the Ambassador’s arrest, our treaties with the elves prevent both sides from taking action against the other’s Ambassador or their staff. While a necessity of international diplomacy the inability to bring the Ambassador directly to justice caused considerable anger amongst the senior Clan Leaders.
However, there are steps that can and are being taken. On the advice of the senior Clan Leaders, taking into account the evidence provided by the Stonesmith’s investigation, The Magrannor has formally withdrawn his welcome for the Ambassador and indicated that he expects the Ambassador and his staff to depart from Khezdur within the next 2 days.
While this represents a significant set back in relations with the Kingdom of the Forest, it is hoped that matters will return to normal once the former ambassador has been appropriately dealt with in Calen Tal tel’Taure. In the meantime those hailing from the Kingdom of the Forest should rest assured that their status in Khezdur is unchanged. Existing agreements allowing elves to live and work in Khezdur will be honoured, but no new agreements will be made until a new Ambassador has been sent from the forest.
