C10-95-02-15 General Resigns
Yesterday on the 14th, a conclave of the senior clan leaders officially accepted the resignation of Bardil Steelfist. the head of the army. General Steelfist had been in charge of our armed forces for over a century and has had many successes against a variety of threats, working tirelessly to protect Khezdur. Amongst his most notable achievements were the defence of Khezdur from the forces of the white dragon Andaxius and repelling the northern humans when they attempted to seize our mines.
However, despite his previous accomplishments, in recent years the former general has been slow to adapt to changing circumstances. The provocation of the goblins that he endorsed has resulted in the very real possibility of a repeat of The Dual Invasion, and his refusal to see the threat posed by an expanding Kingdom of Caresnas has left our southern defences woefully underprepared. Thus far, the threat from the north has only been contained thanks to the actions of a heroic Batled from Clan Greybeard.
As an army cannot function without clear direction from the top, an interim General has been appointed. The widely respected Warleader Thelin Stonesmith will be serving in this capacity until a new permanent General is appointed. Warleader Stonesmith has had a long and distinguished career in the army, and has long been an advocate for improving our Caresnas facing defences. To this end one of his first orders was to redeploy several blocks to the western walls and increase patrols in the north-western mountains.
