The Nine
The collective name for the nine entities that once existed together as The First, created when The First was attacked by The First Spawn. Before the creation of The First Kith and becoming worshiped as Gods, assuming humanoid forms, and adopting names for themselves.
It was the fracturing of The First at the hands of their creations that created The Nine as they were first known. It was The Nine that vanquished The First Spawn and shaped the First World into what we call Tre'Novis at present. After taming the world, The Nine created the first life to thrive in their world: fish to swim in the waters of Marloch, birds to soar in Iio's winds, and beasts to graze Loess' great plains.
The races of Kith were then created in one or more of The Nines' images and ideals: The beauty and grace of Iio, naturely wisdom of Loess, and the sagely knowledge of Denoué combined to give rise to the Elves. Nerefina's passion and love for mining and metal, joined with the lawfulness of Grisyllic to mold the Dwarves. The mirth and playfulness from Rysez were the principal elements to birth the Gnomes and Halflings. Finally, It was a combined effort of all of The Nine that produced the variable and diverse Humans.
The Nine lived on Tre'Novis amongst the Kith, as shifting masses of light and energy. They aided and guided the construction of cities, and the development and advancement of cultures and societies, that were aligned with their own ideals, and the values held by their Kith. It was this close association between The Nine and the Kith that gave rise to religious worship and transformed them into deities, gods, and enabled the Nine to assume Kith-like forms, for the first time.
