Belly-Up Ferry

A small town centrally located in the swampy marshes along the banks of the sleepy Moribund Vitalis. Founded by local reptilian folk in times past, it was named for the first method of commercial water travel: On the bellies of giant "domesticated" crocodiles. Watercraft are now the primary mode of transportation, as the raising, taming, and training of giant lizards was cost prohibitive. And there were fewer mauling and deaths.      While still a small town after all these years, it is a busy hub due to the many travelers crossing the river to go between Locitore and Erudition. While certainly inhabitable, its humid, jungle swamp, mosquito infested locale prevented it from turning into a bedroom community.    Architecture: Wood, Thatch, Mud, primarily small dwellings, and huts.    Commerce: Water transport of persons and goods, Aquaculture of plants/fish/shellfish, Guide services.   Population: Lizardfolk, Elf, Human, Dragonborn    Society: Mayoral election   Miscellany:  Belly-Up Ferry, Post Fall: Since The Fall, the normally sluggish waters of the Moribund Vitalis have become unpredictable and violently rapid with no apparent cause or routine. As such, the traditional navigation method using wooden watercraft has become much more dangerous and difficult, leading to a resurgence of reptile use, as they are naturally able to adjust to the shifts in currents, much easier than a study man-made vessel. The increased demand for these creatures and the time that it usually takes to train them, has led to undertrained animals, and increased number of attacks. Combined with the increase in risk to traverse the waters, has allowed several less than responsible business's to make it rich off the blood of others.
