Gradium

The Heaviest Metal in the World

Gradium is the heaviest metal in Totania, and one of the heaviest naturally occuring substances in all of the planes of existence. It can only be found in Moroza, a frozen wasteland unreachable by most of the world.

Properties

Gradium has a purple hue to it, its most visually distinctive property. However, not all purple metals are Gradium. Some metals have ways to be made purple, while others can simply be painted. Many do paint metals purple to give the illusion of strength, making others believe they are strong enough to wield Gradium.   Other than that, its most well know property is its immense weight. To show this, its specific gravity will be listed, which is its density divided by the density of water (1000). The specific gravity of Gradium is 50, which is over double the second heaviest metal Osmium, with a specific gravity of 22 1/2.   Due to this, even stubbing ones toe on Gradium can be enough force to shatter all the bones in ones body. Therefore, one must be very careful around the element.   It is said to form only in intense cold, which freezes molecules of a certain unknown fluid in Moroza. If given enough time, cold, and pressure, Gradium forms deep under the snow. It cannot be found on the surface, and must be mined for deep enough that most who seek it out, even if they cannot use it, are buried beneath the frost.

Famous Gradium Uses

Few people are able to get their hands on Gradium, and even fewer can use it due to its immense weight. However, there is one man most famous for utilizing Gradium.   This is Die Punchforce, a Strength Mage who wielded Gradium in many of his personal belongings. His rings, the buttons on his jacket, the quivers for his arrows, and even his shovel were made of Gradium.   Punchforce used Gradium to increase his strength, wielding it as a way to grow stronger while also limiting his strength and speed by weighing him down.   It should be noted that Punchforce was not a smith, but since no smith alive could carry Gradium, he forged these items himself through brute force, meaning they came out rather shoddily made.   Other strength mages likely used Gradium, as they are some of the only people with the potential to even hold the metal.
