Steam power

The sounds of gears turning, pipes groaning. The smell of burning furnaces and oil. Wherever you go these are all around you. The cities are built on it, villages driven by it.

Despite what you may think of the Lomian Empire's invasion of Tosormi one thing is for sure: without them there would be no steam power here.
The ability to harness the energy from steam was first discovered by a Lomian scientist in the Empire's capital in the form of a simple steam powered generator. The government quickly saw the possibilites with the new invention and seized it, so that any person wanting to use it for their research simply had to apply for the patent at the government's Science department.

Steam power in Tosormi

It didn't take long for the new inventions to reach the colonies in Tosormi. They were simply too useful. It quickly spread to all parts of Tosormi, and to all people.
Today even The Wanderers use inventions that has been derived from these early ones. The ability to bring stoves into their huts on the Xuis, for example, has meant they don't have to stop and make up fire on the ground anymore.
