Undermountain

A massive dungeon which exists underneath Waterdeep, Undermountain is the life's work of the wizard Halaster Blackcloak. Halister hollowed out Mount Waterdeep and proceeded to excavate underneath the city of Waterdeep. Legends about the formation of Undermountain are known throughout Toril, although are of special interest to Waterdavians (see Halaster Blackcloak and the Building of Undermountain).br The dungeon stretches for 23 levels, each rumored to be at least as large as Waterdeep itself. The lowest level contains Halister's stronghold, where he is said to reside.
