Audrarith (Alternate Timeline)
Childhood friend of Kalbisaryx from their desert homes in the continent of Oketh, where their blue and brass dragon parents (respectively) feuded over their territories. As a result of her bookish nature and desires much more suitable for an amethyst dragon rather than blue, her family severely mistreated her. As a result, her best friend Kal and her girlfriend Jadzia helped her flee her home when they were in their teenage years, and they all flew towards a continent far to the east, Omros. In the mountains there, they encountered a circle of druids devoted to studying the stars, who seeing Jadzia's connection to the divine magic of the goddess Desna, took them in. There, Audry acquired the skills of a druid, and became most comfortable adopting the form of an Aarakocra while adventuring.
This trio of dragons lived as adventurers under the care and guidance of that druid circle for many years, until Audry's increasing discomfort with being a blue dragon demanded some form of resolution. Seeing this, the archdruid of that circle, the All-Seer, presented them with a quest to another world, to find and bring back an account of the mythic "Temple of the Worlds", and along the way seek aid from Audry's echo (alternate version of herself) in this world. Thus, they traversed between the planes via the All-Seer's Plane Shift spell, a journey they experienced as barely half a minute, but to the outside took several months (due to time dilation). They arrived in Ixlyria, sent to that location via the mysterious divine guidance of Bahamut (or his celestials), to meet with the PC's party. However, they encountered Alethramach in that same moment, having to sneak away with the party while the ancient green dragon was held in a Polymorphed form (an encounter that seemed to have spurred Alethramach to conspire to have Jadvigal arrested for treason). She and her companions learned much from the party later that morning in Ixlyria, including reasons to be wary of their counterparts and that their magic bore the same arcane signature as their counterparts (allowing the unlocking of the quested-after Chest 314 to reveal a collection of transcribed journals). They proceeded to head with the party to depart from the capitol city, only to have a brief combat with some guards that caught the attention of the elder Audrarith and Jadvigal, who were in the city clandestinely trying to track them down. An awkward meeting of alternate selves ensued while the skyship took off in haste from the city.
As their echoes in this world made ready to leave, Audry decided to embrace the oneness of magical identity with her elder counterpart, which suddenly kickstarted a process of transitioning from blue to amethyst in type, due to the overwhelming extent of the elder's hoarded arcane artifacts, tomes of knowledge, and assorted wealth. This came along with a particular presentation of Hoard Deprivation Syndrome, which left her tired, irritable, and with a substantially increased appetite ever since. Over the days since, she slowly started to manifest amethyst purple scales in small areas across her true form (which she still hid most of the time by staying in a humanoid form). While the timeline of such a transition is unknown (the Academy only has secret research on how it occurs in adult dragons), given the increased rate of onset, it was assumed to likely be many months, perhaps up to a year or so, until the process would have completed (rather than the several years it has been known to take for an adult dragon).
Upon the parties revisiting of the Windcrest Mountain Outposts (the air rift and giant/kobold settlement), she became somewhat annoyed at Snowsqall/Rhiwa's suggestion to either come up with a fake family relation or to change her appearance to no longer have their hawk-like Aarakocra forms so strongly resemble each other, but she still committed to thinking about it and deciding later. When at the arcane engine installed over the air rift, she felt drawn to a presence within the central artifact of the engine (the Amethyst Cynosure). Touching it and connecting to that presence, she became overwhelmed with an amount of psychic damage that knocked her unconscious. After being healed and cured by the cleric spells of her partner, she came to with shock and horror at what was revealed, that the crystal artifact was imprisoning an ancient dragon that called her "mother." Shortly thereafter, the elder Audrarith teleported in to the scene of the incident, and after a very tense interaction, connected herself to the presence within the artifact she created almost two centuries ago. She then explained (after much repeating of the phrase "I can fix this" to herself) to her younger echo (and all those assembled in the chamber) what had happened but she stripped from her own memory: via the weaving of several spells together, she had attempted to craft a source of graviturgy magic more powerful than any the world had seen by creating a spell-crafted ancient amethyst dragon to be imprisoned in timeless suspension within a crystal that could siphon its energy. What she failed to account for was that this dragon would awaken with a soul, and that the suspension was merely ageless, not timeless. Thus, she in fact created a spell-child, a dragon who thought of himself as her son, who was having his magic painfully siphoned away for over a century without aging, fully aware the whole time. The younger Audry and her partner were horrified by this, their upset only mollified by the actions Audrarith was setting out to do to make this all right...except for the part of the plan where the elder Audrarith would herself power this engine for enough time to fully supply the flying city and the Academy's fleets.
In the day and night that followed, Audry and her two companions reflected much on what had occurred, but without much resolution. That was until Audry awoke late in the morning from her dreams, having finally realized that ever since that day she opened herself up to her counterpart's hoard-magic, her dreams have not just been her own, but predominantly those her counterpart would have been having, if she actually slept. This revelation gave her a new resolve to stand firm in her own sense of self and not be overwhelmed by her (at that very moment beginning to mature into) ancient and more powerful counterpart. A part of this was changing the humanoid form she defaulted to using from aarokocra to that of an amethyst dragonborn, but with noticable blue tones on her avian/dinosaur-like feathered quills (a rare, but not unheard of, draconic trait), and with a countenance not bearing such a strong resemblance to her counterpart.
On the day of the winter solstice of 724, she led the crew of the Gentle Night to kill her echo's father, Griaustithanach, in the Okethi desert. Having pressed for control of the lair's magic during the fight, upon his death, possession of the hoard immediately went to her, which severely disturbed the balance of hoard item types in Audrarith's (effectively the both of them) hoard. This triggered the elder Audrarith to teleport in, and shut the hoard-containing portions of the lair into a new demiplane, to eliminate the magical connection to this several million gold piece valued hoard. A few weeks later, shortly after the crew broke through the adamantine shell beneath the Gorazhumat lair complex, she was killed by a kraken when fighting alongside Jadzia, Kal, and Eldram. However, given magical overlap with her counterpart, she was immediately revivified into one of her counterpart's clone bodies (at adult stage, since it has been less than 120 days since she created her ancient stage clones). She swiftly returned to the fight using Transport via Plants, and ended up being the one to finish off the kraken. Thus, her transition from blue to amethyst in type recieved a significant short cut, with her now being an adult amethyst dragon (with an effective age of 100, the minimum to which Audrarith's chronurgy modification to the Clone spell was able to de-age the adult dragon clone body).
She and her crew (with their new companion Eldram) began their return to World 37-09 on the 8th of 11th-month.
