Link Character in Torlas | World Anvil

Link

Saint Link

Link, or whatever her original name was, is a truly perplexing figure to much of the world. A young arcane elf of seemingly high standing who left her home to become a smuggler, the most confusing thing about her is that she is the first to be divinely gifted by the Worldbuilder, despite- or potentially because of- her irreverent personality and cheerful attitude.

An infinity symbol necklace and earrings with icosahedrons.

Tenets of Faith

That Fate is important, but potentially malleable; that everybody should be free to live their lives as they wish.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

To spread the knowledge she has learnt; to keep the Betrayer Gods at bay; to protect those around her.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Link keeps much of her past close to her chest, though she has some training in the form of elven weaponry, specifically polearms. She spent some time after leaving her home as a criminal in human lands, though she has only mentioned smuggling and no other crimes. At some point the Worldbuilder reached out to her, and she became the first mortal to ever speak with him in any way. He began to give her divine gifts, as the Gods often do with their champions, and she began to seek out allies in the fight against the Bloodweaver's return. She was instrumental in the assistance of The Mighty Gauntlets in their search for Remnants of Sundering and their fight to stop the Bloodweaver's return.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Link is primarily driven by a want to have fun and to protect and help the people around her. She does her best work when helping others to do well and despite her exuberant personality often takes support roles whenever she can. This is part of the reason why she did not set up a dedicated Church specifically for the Worldbuilder.

Social

Contacts & Relations

As one of the founders of the Sainted Walkers adventuring group, she is close to all of their members. She is closest, however, with her lover Resil, the chosen champion of the Lord of Ravens. Despite constant pleads she will not speak to nor return to the halls of the arcane elves, but she has been spending her time post-Bloodweaver reforming some of the churches that have lost their way in the Curadas Empire and working to ensure that all religions are free to practice within their borders. Though she became somewhat good friends to Knell, she didn't interact much with the Gauntlets beyond what was necessary as allies.

Religious Views

Link would certainly not be counted amongst the most pious of individuals, and for a cleric of a god of fate is remarkably invested in forging her own path away from what is expected of her. However, she is always eager to assist those that need it and has no issue with speaking her mind when it comes to gods and fate. She is an avid opposer of the Empire's restriction of worship, and tours the continent with the remaining Sainted Walkers to spread the words of many gods and explain how fate truly works, as well as the concept of Fate-Touched, to the masses. While the leaders of the Empire despise this, there is little they can do to stand up to a Saint of the Worldbuilder himself, and it is becoming increasingly likely that their restrictive laws will be repealed soon.
