Session 09: The Witch Rises & The Witch Perishes Report

General Summary

A HIDDEN HOME

The beautiful continues her persistent desire for the party to follow and they do so with some trepidation.

As they move slowly forward, a second beautiful woman appears who speaks of her sister and their love for those willing to come and be a part of their family.

The party seems quite reluctant to simply follow the beautiful woman and, eventually, she gets quite angry and she transforms into her real identity who is the old and ugly green hag Ondi Naya. She expresses anger that the party won't just serve her as she has been promising them love, care and the joys of being a family in the forest.

Ondi Naya's wolf friend Thog begins to come forth and things begin to feel more threatening. However, the vile witch seems to jump back and forth from angry hag to lovely, beautiful woman. It is clear she is trying to do anything she can to get the party to come to her home.

In time, the party slowly makes their way up to the porch of the small, round hut that is supported by a foundation of thick branches. Ondi Naya positions herself in a manner so that the party is caught on the porch and then begins her attack with Thog at the north and she at the back.

An intense fight continues but the party has some trouble hitting the witch who seems to be able to dodge nearly every attack except Naivara Nightstar's magic missles.

Miramenor Starsinger, having continued as a giant spider, uses his web to trap Ondi Naya in place but soon later she then decides to disappear and it is unclear if she is still trapped. However, Miramenor's web sense reveals that she is still in the web but she likely went invisible to make it harder for attacks to hit her.

Thaymirr Maridson works to help take down Thog who is clearly a werewolf who fights with deadly bites and claw attacks. Thankfully, after getting bitten, Thaymirr is able to shake off becoming a werewolf himself.

The fight continues as the party slowly works to take down Thog. However, it is unclear where Ondi Naya has gone since she has gone invisible. Thaymirr decides to cast a wave of thunder which does not seem hit her.

Shortly later, Naivara decides to slowly make her way up the walkway to the witch's home to see if she can spot Torrieth. Doric desperately desires to find her best friend though the party remains unsure where Ondi Naya has gone.

After peering into a window and not seeing Torrieth, Doric decides to walk around the home herself and yells out looking for her. Moments later, Torrieth weakly cries out seemingly confused about what is going on but is glad to hear that her Doric is near.

In a rage, Ondi Naya returns to the fight and appears right next to Thaymirr and hurls some viscious mockery at him hoping to break his will.

Naivara, fueled by everyone's desire to shut down the foul creature, blasts a massive attack of magic missiles that finally kills the hag.

As she falls to her death, Ondi Naya is seen clutching at the sky. As she does so, her appearance quickly switches back and forth between her actual self and that of a bandit and the beautiful woman. The master of disguise has now met her demise.
