Session 08: A Meeting with the Mysterious, Blonde Woman Report

General Summary

THE BANDIT CAVE

Having heard the report from Miramenor Starsinger, Thaymirr Maridson decides to stealthily enter the cave. As he carefully hides against the wall of the cave, he is able to clearly see the blonde woman sitting upon a stone throne with two bandits fully bowing on the floor before her

Naivara Nightstar also tries to stealthily enter the cave but is easily seen by the blonde woman who confronts her for entering.

The woman wonders why she is here but offers Naivara peace and happiness is she is willing to stay and serve her. Offers of deep friendship and love are offered.

Naivara seems willing to be friends as she carefully tries to navigate the odd confrontation.

Miramenor also carefully makes his way inside and hides closely near Thaymirr. Doric remains just outside the entrance realizing the entry is tight and she'll likely be seen.

As the woman continues trying to get Naivara to know that she is there to give her the love she never had, Miramenor enters from hiding and tries to provide some intimidation that doesn't quite work.

The woman, growing frustrated that the two don't trust her, disappears. Moments later, the three bandits in the area, with their beautiful queen now gone, decide it is time to attack the intruders. A loose wolf also joins the fight while two others locked in a nearby cell bark at all of the comotion.

The fights ensues and Thaymirr is able to quickly dispatch one bandit using Thunderwave while the second is damaged and gets pushed forcefully back crashing against the throne.

During the fight, the creepy sounds of a crying baby and what appears to be a very large animal come from outside the cave. All in the cave are struck with some fear by the oddness of what might lurk outside.

Miramenor casts Ice Strike which winds up missing the bandit but in its shattering causes some unfortunate damage to both Thaymirr and Naivara. He decides to wild shape into a Giant Spider.

The fight continues without too much trouble and the party takes a fairly easy victory. A fun highlight included Miramenor, as a giant spider, cleverly dropping himself from the ceiling to crush the wolf.

An investigation of the area reveals basic supplies and no magic. Thaymirr carefully breaks open the lock of the cell to loose the two wolves having calmed them with his animal handling.

In order to decide who gets to keep the two wolves, Doric teaches the party a game she played as a girl called Five Stones. In the game, each person throws five stones against a wall. The person whose stones measure closest to the wall wins. As the party played, Doric and Miramenor wound up winning but Thaymirr rolled the stones for Miramenor since his large, spider legs were not able to play.

As the party exits the cave, with their two new wolf companions, the sounds of the baby crying, and a sort of moaning laugh, comes from just outside the camp entrance. Doric decides to head in that direction only to be confronted by the voice of the blonde woman who calls her to come forth and follow her.

In time, the party slowly decides to follow the voice of the woman who bids them to follow deeper into the forest. She promises the truth will come soon but that she does love them more than they can imagine and that together they can bring peace to the woods.

A HIDDEN HOME

A fair bit deeper into the forest, the trees darken the area where a brook trickles nearby the path. The smell of baking cookies also lurks amidst the trees.

The woman comes forth from the darkness and continues to encourage the party to follow her to her home. "The truth is coming," and she promises they will also find their friend.

As the party debates what to do next, the woman appears right next to Thaymirr and holds out of a tray of warm cookies. However, the cookies are creepily crafted in the shape of the bandits and their limbs also wiggle and squirm on the try. She slowly grabs the cookies and crumples them in her hand while pushing them off the tray onto the ground. Where the bandits have failed in their service, she shows confidence that her new friends will be much better once they join together as a family.
