Session 07: Confronting the Bandit Camp Report

General Summary

THE BANDIT SETTLEMENT

The bandit captain and his many allies engage the party in a fierce fight.

Miramenor Starsinger wild shapes into a dire wolf in hopes that he will be better able to attack at close range.

Thaymirr Madison and Naivara Nightstar use forceful spells trying to bring down the brutish captain who can fiercely attack with multiple melee strikes.

Along with many jibes and threats from the bandits, the party takes enough damage to question whether or not they should retreat.

In a move that brings some encouragement, Doric uses Thunderwave to heavily damage the captain and a couple of his troops.

With the tide of battle shifting, the party fights on and the captain pulls back begging his troops to push forward for the beautiful queen they serve.

Recognizing the dazed state of the bandits who are now facing their ruin, the voice of the mysterious woman beckons from the nearby cave entrance encouraging them to fight on and that her strength will help bring their victory.

Unfortunately, the party's strength is too much and the bandits and their pet wolf Spike perish in a heap.

After taking a long rest, the party uses some stealth to search the settlement with nightfall having fallen.

They decide to carefully make their way to the cave entrance to see what they might discover.

THE BANDIT CAVE

Thaymirr carefully investigates from the cave entrance. Though quite dark, a bit farther in he can see two bandits on their faces in an apparent gesture of worship to someone possibly on what appears might be a nearby throne.

Miramenor wild shapes into a rat and slowly venture into the cave hoping to get more information.

Being careful, he gets close enough that he can see that the two bandits are indeed worshipping at the feet of the beautiful woman who sits upon the throne. She speaks encouragement to the two commending them for not falling to death like their weak counterparts. They humbly submit, with some pride, to her words feeling confident that she will protect them from the intruders who recently took down so many of their friends.
