Davil met the Bumbling Breakthroughs at the Yawning Portal and explained the situation with the Zhentarim. He is a member of the Doomraiders, a group of five adventurers who had founded the Waterdeep branch of the Zhentarim three years ago. He also told them that there was a schism in the Zhentarim, with an unknown person or force being the ones who had been doing illegal activities and had double crossed the Xanathar Guild in pursuit of Neverember's Enigma. He asked the team to help the Doomraiders because if this continues to escalate they'll be forced out of Waterdeep.
When the group was interested in helping the Zhentarim, he assigned them a quest to get information on murders in the Dock Ward. The group was able to not only find the murderer, a racist drow, but also capture him and bring him to Davil. The murderer was a Breagan D'Aerthe -- a group of drow mercenaries and assassins -- that Davil was unaware was in Waterdeep. While Davil was pleased they had gone above and beyond, they might have burned some of their goodwill when Torrin and Nerali came back and asked to talk about the murderer and told half-truths around the Harpers looking for information on Zhentarim operatives.
When asked for assistance with recovering Aethrex and Vaeris after their kidnapping, Davil quickly provided two mercenaries. The group gave him a captured kobold in return, which Davil assured he would reward them for at the Shipwright's Ball.
Later, Davil was arrested for all the violence between the other Zhent and the Xanathar Guild. The group visited him and he told them of another Zhent lair. The group is working to clear his name.
Relationships
A member of Zhentarim who acts as a negotiator and salesman. Yagra is acting as his bodyguard.
