History
Verity serves as Fury's representative in the first layer of the
Seven Hells,
Luxuria. The Afterlife Casino operates as an extension of Fury's influence within this infernal realm.
The Brownoak family, seeking greater power, approached Fury with an ambitious plot. As part of their pact, they were to send a representative to the Seven Hells to collaborate with Verity, assisting Fury in expanding her control within Luxuria.
However, instead of the true Brownoak emissary, it was Lucianos Morningstar—a cunning con man posing as a noble of the Brownoak family—who arrived at the Afterlife Casino. During his meeting with Verity, Lucianos pledged his loyalty to Fury, swearing to uphold the Brownoak family’s supposed agreement. Impressed, Verity granted him devilish powers in exchange for his oath.
Not long after, Lucianos returned to Verity with alarming news. He claimed a
Human thief was plotting a heist targeting the casino’s vault. To thwart this threat, he requested Verity’s seal and the vault’s password, explaining that these were necessary to fulfill a deal he had struck with the thief and to aid in setting a trap.
Reluctant but convinced, Verity agreed, appeased by Lucianos’ offer of soul coins to alleviate the distress of a potential breach. He handed over his seal and the vault password to Lucianos. However, Verity immediately took precautions: he changed the passwords and significantly reinforced the vault’s security, preparing for the thief's inevitable attempt.
