When the fishing company he worked for gave way, Tarek had nothing and was worth even less, until he heard the story of Katarina Nessi. Inspired by her story, he managed to get a room on her ship and became a member of her crew. Hearing the Whisper of Tromokratis when he is in Katarina's presence, Tarek which for the titan to reign on the oceans again, unlike his captain. Because of that, he spies for the Kraken King and believes he needs a few more nights, and a few more crew members on his side to overthrow Katarina.
