Ray has a charming smile for anyone who gives him a kind word or a good tip. His hunched shoulders have only a hint of the strength they once had, and his hands are callused from years of work.

Mental traits

Ray is patient, though he suffers no fools.   Ideal. “Hard work won’t erase my losses, but it goes a long way toward easing them.”
Bond. “I’ve poured decades of hard work into the my cafe. It’s all I have.”
Flaw. “I become surly and irritable when confronted with things beyond my control.”

History

Lukas lived in Galeo and worked there as a miner. His young wife, Lorna, died in the disaster. He left after her Death. If the characters announce that they’re heading to Galeo, he asks them to place flowers on his wife’s grave for him, and to find her old necklace in a hollow of the tree in the center of the village and return it to him. Lukas can give them a rough map of the village, though he notes a lot can change in seventy years.   Ray accumulated the capital to open the café by running errands for the thieves' guild. Then, once Hambone's took off, he scaled back his smuggling activities. He has spent most of his Time increasing the variety of items on his many, connecting with regular customers, and trying to maintain a good reputation.   In the thirty years he has been in business. Hambone has done alright for himself. But the truth is, pork isn't paying the bills as well as he had hoped it would. Being something of a "connecting guy" with a keen eye for counterfeits, he has recently begun to rely on smuggling gems again to keep the lights on. He may be willing to help adventurers locate or sell precious stones and other goods on the black market for the right price. Since he knows a lot of people from the underground. Hambone can introduce those who pay to smugglers and thieves.
