History

Dawn of the Dragon Gods

In Toriel's ancient past, like the other dragons of that era, Nozdormu would gather under the command of Talonixa to combat Sardior. Sardior, the first dragon, afflicted by a disease, grew stronger with every dragon he consumed.   Alexstrasza, Ysera and Malygos joined with Nozdormu and Neltharion, two other powerful dragon, to hunt Sardior once and for all. Forcing him to retreat in a cavern were all five dragon, except for Ysera, began the battle against Sardior, who had grown larger and even more mutated than before.   With a flap of wings, Sardior called up a massive wind that scattered the fighters. Ysera suddenly appeared and Sardior attempted to devour her, but Neltharion silenced his laughter with a mighty blow, pulled Sardior to the ground and began to mercilessly beat him even as Sardior began mutating further.   In the battle, Sardior ripped Neltharion lower jaw, Malygos moved to save him, examining the bloody mess as Sardior roared in triumph and grew ever larger. This bolstered the fighter, that, in a final attempt to protect everything they held dear, and blessed by the two dragon gods, banished Sardior into the void.   After such a feat, the five dragons were blessed with godly power and agreed to protect Toriel. By channeling the power of the two dragon gods, they were able to ascend to godhood themselves.

The War of the Ancients

Draconic Allies

late 4955 BD through 4946 BD   The demons, in their endless quest for conquest and battle, were pouring onto Toriel with an unstoppable bloodlust. the elves and humans uniting with other mortals such as dwarves and goblins. It was also the first Time the mortal started to fight together against a common threat, knowing they stand little to no chance against the abyssal horde, they fought for their survival anyway.   But the regions corrupted by the demon grew with each passing months, forcing the dragons to join the battle.   With the corrupted regions growing, the Dragon God congregated at the lair of Alexstrasza to discuss the coming invasion and what part they should play in defending the world. Neltharion proposed that to end the invasion of demons, the dragon gods should create a weapon with which they could eradicate the demon armies.   Neltharion then convinced Malygos to help him with the other Dragon Gods. All the dragon god contributed a bit of their power in creating the Dragon soul with the exception of Neltharion. Through the disk, Neltharion was able to magically take control of all other dragons, including the other four dragon gods.   Using the disk, the dragon gods strength shifted the war, and a large effort to push the demon back into the abyss started.

Goddess of death

Nozdormu was captured by the goddess of Death, who could feel her incomming demise. Nozdormu spoke the truth to her, revealing that her downfall was imminent. However, he warned that it would not result in her demise but in a fate worse than death itself.   Nozdormu quietly waited as the goddess's prisoner until Neltharion's betrayal pushed him to confront the goddess alongside Vanadon, killing her and freeing him.

Alexstrasza's liberation

4931 BD   he demons succeeded in stealing the dragon soul from Neltharion's hoard. In a desperate bid to distract the demons and reclaim the artifact, Neltharion devised a plan to relocate Alexstrasza, intending to subject her to further torment once the artifact was recovered.   Fortunately, intervention from the other dragon gods led to Alexstrasza's liberation. Additionally, the dragon soul was wrested from both the demons and Neltharion by Nozdormu.

The Final Battle

4921 BD   Exhausted by years of fighting against restles demons, and by numerous sacrifices, the crusade decide to push forth with an ultimate offensive to wipe out the demonic forces, Nozdormu agreeing to use the dragon soul, but not as a weapon of war, as a tool to close the rift.   The final battle of the War of the Ancients campaign takes place at the very center of the Abyssal Rift, where the rift to the Abyss is most potent. A large scale assault starts on the stronghold of the demonlord Batara, with the intention of ending the war once and for all.   The battle pits the generals of Batara against the crusade, who ultimately conquer the stronghold, allowing Nozdormu to intervene, closing the rift between the planes and putting an end to the war.

Allies Blessing

4921 BD Nozdormu placed an enchantment upon the elves, who were the most remarkable of mortal troops during the war. The elves would now age incredibly slowly.

Baned through time

After Neltharion's battle against Alexstrasza, the balance between life and death was irreparably disrupted. Nozdormu, the God of Time, who typically remained a neutral observer, decided that he could no longer stand idly by.   For decades, Nozdormu pursued Neltharion, the God of Death, across the planes and the flow of time. When he finally caught up to him, he did not engage in battle. Unlike Alexstrasza, Nozdormu understood the futility of direct conflict with Neltharion, whose power over death was vast and unyielding. Instead, Nozdormu wielded his dominion over time itself to enact a more decisive punishment.   Nozdormu banished Neltharion forward through time, trapping him in an unknown future. The God of Death vanished from the present, leaving no trace of when or where he might reappear. Only Nozdormu, the master of time, knows the moment of Neltharion's return, if it should ever come to pass.
