Gula Geographic Location in Toriel | World Anvil

Gula

The 2nd layer of the seven hells, the layer of gluttony.   Gula is the second layer of the Seven Hells, the layer of gluttony. The layer is relatively easy to access through Luxuria. This layer is desertic, and the body of water or place to find food are scarse and unusable except if adventurers make a pact with the local devil, or the archdevil.

Geography

Gula, the second layer of the Seven Hells, is a vast desert wasteland, scorched and barren, with nothing but burning sands and jagged rocks as far as the eye can see. The sun beats down mercilessly, and the air is thick with the stench of sulfur and ash. There is no food or water to be found in this desolate land, save for a few rare oases that dot the landscape.   These oases are guarded by powerful devils, who demand a terrible price for the precious sustenance they provide. In order to obtain food or water from these oases, one must make a pact with the devil in question, or with the archdevil who rules over Gula. Those who do not have the power or the will to make such a pact are left to wander the desert, slowly wasting away from hunger and thirst.   The landscape of Gula is treacherous and unforgiving, with treacherous sandstorms and deadly creatures lurking around every corner. Those who find themselves trapped in Gula are plagued by an overwhelming sense of despair and hopelessness, as they struggle to survive in this cruel and inhospitable land. The only thing that keeps them going is the hope that they may one day find a way out of this hellish desert and escape the eternal punishment of Gula.

Features

Hazard

Gula's Curse. A never-ending hunger affects the creature in Gula. A creature needs to eat and drink twice as much to benefit from a long rest on this plane.

Ruler

Nymue Loth is the ruler of this layer, her hunger for demon death could be linked to this layer twisted form, but the truth is, the previous archdevil was the one representing gluttony, and Nymue while as powerful, barely show any link with gluttony.
