Efreeti

"An Efreeti is a genie of fire, or, as some say, an elemental. It does not fulfill wishes, build palaces or make anyone rich, but it enslave those who dare to face him if they can force the creature to be obedient."

Efreet are genies from the Elemental Plane of Fire. When summoned, they do not grant wishes, unless the summoning party wishes to die. These creatures are undoubtedly intelligent.

Culture

The Efreet have built an empire, from the Elemental Plane of Fire and rule it from their capital City of Brass under their Great Sultan Marrake al-Sidan al-Hariq ben Lazen.

Fire elementals try to avoid efreet, fearing their oppressive and opportunistic nature. Djinn and efreet have a long-standing animosity, leading to frequent battles between the two Genie races. Efreet trade worked materials with Dao in exchange for raw metals, but generally treat other races as either servants or slaves.

Honor and acquisition are two of the most important concepts in efreeti culture. Their names are long and reflect their lineage and history, but when dealing with lesser creatures, they often use a simpler name.

Mages sometimes attempt to enslave efreet for their powerful Magic, but binding an efreet is extremely difficult and dangerous, as it may result in the bound creature's wrath if it ever escapes.

Characteristics

Physical features

Efreet are humanoids with appearances that resemble that of devils. They tower over others, with an average height of 12 feet and weigh a massive 2,000 pounds. Their bodies are well-muscled and have red or black skin that is constantly burning, giving them the appearance of being made of basalt, bronze, and solidified fire.

Biologie

As water is to most life forms, heat is to efreet. Heat and flame sustain their bodies. For this reason, they tend to reside near fumaroles, volcanoes, and other large natural heat sources.

Mental traits

Efreet are cruel and self-serving. They all consider themselves to be of noble character and assume grand titles to make themselves seem impressive.

Abilities

Efreeti magic is comparable to that of other powerful creatures, such as demons and Liches, and is highly versatile. They are particularly renowned for their ability in magical weaponsmithing and are known for their skill in creating flaming weapons.
