Drunken Drider

When one travels in the Underdark , one is largely traveling through hostile territory, and where you sleep and take your meals really matters. Those who set out from the lowest levels of Balgondelve towards Drow territory don't find many amenities, but, about three days south, several tunnel converge in a large cavern lit by glowing fungi. Stalagmites in this area came together in a thick cluster, and this cluster has been carved or shaped to be hollow, and that hollowed-out area is now the tavern and inn known as the Drunken Drider.

The proprietor, Kadalath Ristaqual, is an unusually friendly drow who found this cavern over three hundred years ago, and, over the course of several years, formed the interior of the stalagmite cluster. Now, he offers a safe place to rest and eat to weary travelers passing through. The tavern's signature drink is called Kilinath, which is made from some of the glowing fungi that grow in the cavern.

By Kadalath's tradition, all are welcome at the Drunken Drider, as long as they don't cause trouble for those staying there. This tradition has led to interesting visitors, such as the Illithid Chuluth, who has become a regular.
