The Lichen Fields

Located in the tunnels between Torbin and Alooth is a great expanse known as the Lichen Fields. Much like the forests that once covered the surface of Tohrn, the Lichen Fields stretch for nearly three miles in each direction under a cavernous canopy of glowing green lichen, mushrooms, and other unnamed vegetation. The fields are filled with a cross between shrubbery and mushrooms called Farenne bushes. These bushes grow down from the ceiling of the cavern, with the largest being more than 30 feet long and nearly touching the ground. Moisture constantly drips from the branches of the Farenne branches, and this moisture is the sustaining water for the spiders, slugs, and other creatures making their home in the branches. The slipperiness of the cavern floor makes crossing the fields difficult for any who stray from the road, but it can usually be accomplished in a few hours of careful travel. The locals of Alooth are often seen collecting the slow falling sap in buckets for processing by their alchemists.
