Isles of Ga'rosh

The Isles of Ga'rosh consist of four islands in the northern hemisphere of Tohrn They include Gorrdan, Thangol, Tehbran, and the Dan. The three largest Isles, Gorrdan, Thangol, and Tehbran are connected by very old, very strong, stone bridges built by Gabbonese engineers in hopes of continuing the colonization west from City of Towle . The Dan is only accessible by boat or ferry. The surface of the Isles is mostly sand and stone, wildlife is seen mostly at night and is quite deadly. Surrounded by a high salinity ocean, the Aqos, only two settlements have been able to survive for any length of time. Towle on the Isle of Thangol, and Berdan on Tehbran. Both small cities have survived by locating an underground potable water source that is carefully managed by the individual ruling parties. Travel above ground is slow and requires careful planning, however there are tales of indigenous elven tribes throughout Ga'rosh that have lived above ground for centuries. Rarely seen in the cities, these elves are known as Dawnstalkers or Duskwalkers depending on which tribe they belong to.

Geography

Dead to the eye, Go'rash is a harsh landscape. Dried husks of trees speak of a past that is beyond memory. The sandy plains, and sandstone hills make burrowing home commonplace for the wildlife, and those hardy (or foolish) enough to live outside the protection of the cities. The beaches are rocky and unfriendly, with large crab-like creatures picking the bones of the fallen and dragging the bodies into their shallow lairs.

Fauna & Flora

The plains are littered with the dried husks of trees. While dead in appearance, these are actually the roots of the trees which growth below ground for mineral sustenance. The trunks may be hacked open to find water, but once opened, the tree dies for good. Birds are uncommon, and also uncommonly large, with most having a wingspan of six to eight feet. Insects and hard shelled animals rule the day, while more nimble, light-skinned animals come out at night.

Natural Resources

The trees of Go'rash are not special per se, but the Elven tribes have created a method of treating the wood to take the hardwood, and harden it into ironwood. Water is carefully protected within the cities, and even more secreted away in the wilds. Inside the caves of Thangol mountain can be found raw gems for those willing to risk alerting the goblins. The are rumors that The Dan contains the richest soil in the Isles for growing the small crops that sustain the population.
