Uwin Abiiban

The Honourable Uwin Sáhijo Abiiban

Abiiban's not very friendly, but sometimes that's what you need for shit like this - Someone to tell you, in no uncertain terms, that you're doing the wrong thing and need to stop wasting time and money.
— Biidalyan Thülötsla, member of the Amara Project
Uwin Abiiban is a Lawaguumawa minister, representing the state of Kkálináppuri . They were first elected in 25 Return, and since 31 Return has been serving as the project head for the Amara Project, coordinating its efforts to connect two distant continents.

History

Uwin was born in Kkálináppuri's capital as the youngest of 3 children, hailing from a family of metalsmiths and armourers. However, they showed no flair for the family profession, and were instead employed to keep track of the finances and current jobs at the forge. This they did diligently for many years, until their older brother Dyul took over the business from their mother and advised them to find work elsewhere.   They took their accounting skills to the mainland, and soon found themselves working in the office of the Treasurer of Lawaguum, helping in the handling of state finances. They were initially far out of their depth in the environment, but adapted fairly quickly, and became one of the main aids to the minister during their tenure. However, this was less for accounting and more for their general management skills, helping to organise his exceptionally busy schedule of talking to leaders from various Lawaguumawa states.   For their managerial skills, it was suggested they stand for office in replacement of a retiring colleague, which they did in 25 Return. Though they were not at that time made a member of the government ministry, they did help with organising federal funding for their state, and arranging meetings between their constituents and the relevant ministers.   In 31 Return, their work ethic was recognised with their appointment to head of the Amara Project, which was formed to facilitate a connection between Thurásin and Abravost. Despite a lack of personal interest on their part, Uwin has dedicated a great deal of effort into the project, finding pre-eminent experts in each field to head their own "departments" to ensure the project's success.
