The Van Vermeer Family
"Among the noble houses of Vienna, House Van Vermeer stands above them all. This illustrious family has captured the attention of all of Kauvet with their masterpieces for generations.
No painting is more coveted than the Masterpiece, painted by a son of House Van Vermeer in each generation using the family’s signature magic item, The Great Brush. Each Masterpiece is different and all are magical, scenes moving, people going about their day. Some Masterpieces have even been portals that allow the owner to step into the painting and enjoy the art first hand.
No Masterpiece would be possible without the infamous Great Brush, handed down from son to son ever since the founding father of House Van Vermeer, Vincent Van Vermeer, discovered it all those years on a trip to relieve his art block. Though the future for House Van Vermeer is uncertain as the the 29th son has taken up to using the Great Brush as a weapon and a life of adventuring, who can tell where this path leads this prominent noble family down." - Tristan
The Presch Deal
The Great Brush was originally a weapon forged by dwarves of The Brook Family, but was stolen by The Presch Family upon taking power in Glimmerbrook, who attached the magical brush addition to it. After that, it was bartered for by the first Vincent Van Vermeer, who made a deal with the head of the Presch family of that time: when the Van Vermeer line dies, the Great Brush goes back to the Presch Family, and while the Van Vermeers use the brush, 60% of all money made from the selling of paintings created by the Great Brush goes to the Presch family.Van Vermeer PCs
