Lingua Latina
Latin is one of the ancient languages of Europa. It is used in Latium as soon as the beginning of the 1st millenia. It gained a long-lasting glory when the Latium gave birth to the city of Roma, when Roma conquered the Mediterranean world, and when Europe accepted this legacy and kept praticing it as a living language (although Carlovingian reforms stopped its evolution) almost until the 20th century, where eveyrone finally accepted that it was no longer appropriate.
