The Artery

The Artery is the largest mountain and volcano in Paradosia, though it has been dormant for as long as historians can remember.
The Artery is a volcano on two levels, it bubbles with lava, magma and extreme heat on it's surface and most of it's interior... however, beneath the volcano there are endless tunnels filled with an abundance of treasure within, rich minerals for mining and smithing. Much of Carivel's and Paradosias wealth has come from this mountain.
However, it is treacherous to mine within now and has deeply limited supply of minerals to the city and country, forcing more and more dangerous expeditions to combat the lava flows from above and the monsters from below... often representing dangerous but deeply profitable work for adventurers.
Some of the best jewellery in Thysia (including Gregor Viltis' crown) is forged from the minerals in The Artery.
