Glamour

My it is a gorgeous material, worth every drop of sweat that it's workers spend to cultivate it.
  • A Stehno ambassador investigates the properties and applications of the Glamour found in Rouge Sables.
Glamour is a strange rock found within the mines of Rouge Sables that has brought it wealth, acclaim and deep controversy in the fashion world and in wider politics.   The myth surrounding the creation and existence of Glamour is heavily linked to The myth of the Uprising as it is believed that the race known as Changelings were born from the same planar force that gave birth to Glamour. This also is what leads many Changelings to take the last name of 'Glamour'.   The material itself has a grain like appearance and was originally eaten and caused death and poison, earning the nickname 'false bread', however, upon physical inspection, it is revealed to be a sedimentary stone that is extremely fragile and difficult to extract without crumbling into poisonous dust.   When extracted correctly, Glamour can be placed into a blast furnace or struck by a mages fireball spell (or any fire spell that deals at least 35 damage), upon being hit with this heat, the material takes on an elastic and fluid appearance and texture where it can be stretched and manipulated like taffy. When stretched and hung to harden and dry, the Glamour material finally takes on a threadlike look that can be used for crafting silks.   If glamour is sewn into silks they become magically enhanced and make reinforced armour in a pinch, however, the real use of glamour is in it's applications in the fashion world, for glamour can (if attuned to by the wearer) change colour at will into a myriad of different designs, this has led to glamour being sewn into clothes all over Thysia and has brought Rouge Sables enough wealth to survive in Thysia and especially continue to exist in Epizonia where the Stehno barony constantly breath down their necks for them to meet their taxation demands.   However, over-production of the Glamour materials have led to lower standards of safety in it's refining and production process which in turn has led to many cases of Apertus Glamour in Rouge Sables, a thing that Baroness Millicent Commonbrook has pointedly ignored.
