Ysell Norham (yih-sell)
Her Grace, Duchess Ysell Ahmi- Norham
Ysell Norham was the wife of Duke Landan am Ahmi and the daughter of a powerful noble lord of the northeast of Imesse.
Ysell was a very sickly child and her constitution never truly improved as she grew into adulthood. She was frequently bedridden and prone to palsied fits of spasms and tremors. After her marriage to Landan, the couple quickly became pregnant. Ysell's health took an immediate turn for the worse. She was plagued with intense morning sickness so that she lost weight far easier than she gained it. After a long and grueling labor, Ysell was blessed with her son, Lewys. This was followed by four failed pregnancies, the last of which nearly cost Ysell her life. Then in the fall of 220, she became pregnant again and gave birth to Lansyl. Her final full-term pregnancy began in 225, but the labor was too much for her frail body and both she and her daughter, Ysold, died during the 20-hour birth.
The mother and daughter were buried together in the Ahmi crypts of the Grand Temple of Len Doa.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Pale blonde hair, dark blue eyes, very fair skin. Ysell was very thin and frail, never showing even an ounce of extra weight. Prone to illness and fatigue her entire life, she was an extremely delicate woman, especially when she was pregnant.

As a member of the House of Norham, Ysell was a very wealthy young woman when she married the Duke. Some people even venture to say that she was marrying "poor" given the state of the Duchy when her husband took the title.
Hobbies & Pets
Ysell was very fond of cats, and happily fed and tended the dozen or more animals that constantly prowled the Ducal Palace of Len Doa. Her apartments were always open to eight or nine cats at any time, often more. Since her death, the Duke has continued to feed and tend the beasts in and around the Palace, even though he is known to hate cats.
