Noble House of Norham

The Ancient and Noble House of Norham is one of the oldest and most prestigious ruling houses of the entire High Kingdom of Imesse. their power and authority date back to more than 500 hundred years, and they are the last vestige of the ruling families of the pre-conquest Kingdoms of the Doa Coast, which at one time stretched from Colo all the way to the County of Aramor. The family's age and influence is most obviously reflected in their stubborn refusal to adhere to the broader cultural convention of adding the prefix "am" to the family name, preferring to refer to themselves in the same manner as that used more than three centuries earlier. Given names within the family tend to be quite dated, even antiquated, by the standards of the rest of the Realm.

The Norham family had the good fortune (or perhaps the good sense) to support Benn Ohn and his "strong arm", Lenis Ahm, during the founding of the Kingdom of Imesse, and have remained a powerful and influential family within the realm ever since.

The Norham have ruled the northeast region of what is now Imesse for at least 500 years, and they are the last living vestige of the ruling caste of the former Kingdoms of the Doa Coast. Originally the Norhams controlled the coast from the Dorn River in the north to the Delron River in the south, and as far west as the Tobrick Mountains. Even after more than two centuries, the family still holds vast tracts of land from the Town of Tobrick to the Cities of Norwas, Delron and Atwater.

The current head of the House of Norham is Alfric Norham, a 68-year-old man ruling and residing from his palatial estate just outside the walls of the City of Norwas.
