Hyrash is the Ulan Emperor of the Sellenian Empire and the ninth Emperor of that name. He is a 61-year-old Human of ebonos descent and has ruled the Empire for 19 years. Hyrash is a powerful sorcerer, well schooled in both blood magic and necromancy, as are all who sit on the Alabaster Throne. Hyrash has garnered an unprecedented level of control and influence over his empire, and has consolidated power under his hand to a degree never before seen in living memory.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Tall, broad-shouldered and heavily built. Skin is a dark, shiny black and his hair is kept short.
Special abilities
Hyrash is a blood sorcerer and necromancer of some renown. He is able to revive recently deceased bodies enough to ask them questions and receive truthful answers. With the proper rituals and components, Hyrash can summon demons and spirits to do specific tasks or answer specific questions, but the cost in blood, treasure and pain to himself is significant, as is the risk if something goes wrong. He can also magically bind living souls to his will for as long as their body lives, given the right incantations and ingredients.

When participating in official Imperial business, Hyrash is garbed in green togas denoting his position as Ulan Emperor. His regalia is always either hammered, unsmelted gold or polished gopher wood.

Motivation
Hyrash is driven to consolidate the entirety or the Empire under his direct control, and then to expand the Empire even further into the world. He has a vision for the Empire and is driven to see it come to light, but does not seem to care about the cost of that vision in blood and suffering to the people he rules.

Hyrash is supremely confident in his physical, intellectual, magical and spiritual superiority over all other men, both within the Empire and everywhere else. His arrogance is legendary, but it is backed by actual intelligence and a string of political and military successes that give much weight to his ambitions and efforts.
