Frost Town
Frost Town is the Common name of the walled Elven community located within the Giant Kingdom of Imarus at the mouth of the Silverwine River. The town was constructed for the Elves by the Frost Giants of Imarus to give them a place to live safely and comfortably all year. The community of Elves living at Frost Town numbers more than 250 souls. The Elves of the community call it Jaylu (Elvish for "frost") and the Giants simply refer to it as "smokey".
Frost Town was built by the Giants specifically for the Jaylu'aNar to entice them to settle on the shores within Imarus. Elven knowledge of the processing, preserving and uses of the many wonderous and magical materials and substances that the Giants so frequently harvest was seen as so important and vital to the health and well-being of the Kingdom that the former ruler of Imarus, Grondi Montahk, had the entire town built in just over a month to the very specific directions of the Brumii brothers. For the last 106 years, the Elves have helped hunt, harvest, process and preserve the meat, blubber, hides, bones, organs and other material components of such prey as Leviathan, Kraken, whales, sharks, White Dragons, giant walrus, mammoths, mastodons, muskox, stag moose, megaloceros, and hundreds of bison, caribou, auroch and other wild game. It is the large rendering ovens and cauldrons that produce the smoke and steam that has prompted the Giants to name the community "smokey", in fact.
Demographics
The residents within the walls of Frost Town are exclusively Prosk'aNara Elves that have taken the demonym Jaylu'aNar (an Elvish term that translates as frost elves). These Elves have lived on the shore of Silver Bay for more than 100 years, and all are happy, healthy and contributing members of the larger Imarus society.
Government
Local governance is left entirely to the Kingdom of Imarus, and all residents of Frost Town adhere to the laws, traditions and customs of the Giants at all times. In the unlikely event that there is strive or conflict within the community, the brothers Brum'a Albus and Brum'a Nixus are the consensus leaders of the community and would mediate a resolution to the issue.
Industry & Trade
The Elves of Frost Town have given the Giants of Imarus improved methods for processing and preserving the fruits of their hunting expeditions into the great Eastern Sea. They have shown the Giants how to render down the blubber of many marine animals into very useful and extremely valuable oil, how to put that oil into special barrels so that it will not spoil and can easily be sold and shipped. Meat from giant sea creatures like leviathan and kraken is butchered, preserved and packed in barrels as well, sometimes salted and sometimes pickled (something Giants were utterly unaware of prior to the coming of the Jaylu'aNar, but now cannot live without) for use months and even years later. Hides, skins and scales are harvested and treated to provide incredibly durable leather products that have properties utterly unique in all the world. Bones are preserved for use as tools and weapons, blood and organs are used as medicines and magical components, etc. The Elves have even shown the Giants how to improve the design and construction of their gigantic boats and ships and have a huge seaside shop and dock where ships of the Giant Kingdom are repaired and improved regularly.
