Avery am Borri
Lord Avery am Borri
Avery am Borri was the former Lord of the Noble House of Borri and the father of the current Baron of Dunrick, Gill am Borri.
Avery was a dedicated and hard-working supporter of the High King and all his policies. He felt obligated to do all he could to support the Kingdom's efforts in the Second Northern War. One of his duties was to ensure the prompt and efficient collection of taxes throughout his extensive but rather poor holdings and estates. This did not endear him to the common people of the region, however. As the war dragged on and taxes kept climbing, the nobles and knights tasked with collecting those revenues became the increasing targets of resentment and anger from the local populus.
Early in the winter of 216 AF, the body of Lord Avery was found beaten and bloody just a few yards from a road leading to the City of Stonehold. His horse, weapons, most of his clothing and armor were all missing, as was any coin or property he might have had with him at the time. An investigation followed that concluded that Lord Avery had been collecting rents and fees in the area, and that he must have been the victim of a brutal robbery turned murder. No attacker was ever found.
