Saint Bernadette of Warrington

Saint Bernadette of New Detroit -- not to be confused with her patron, Saint Bernadette of Lourdes -- was an immensely important figure in the the Judeo-Christian Church.   Born in the Duchy of Warrington to simple peasants during the Age of Monsters as Helene Bernadette De'lacour, she was taught to fight, survive, and prosper. She did not grow up in a religious environment and instead actively fought the continuously expanding influence of the Judeo-Christian Church in her community because of he own predispositions. Having been raised as a fighter she was actively taught in survival skills, as a result she was an acclaimed healer in her town.   She turned to the Judeo-Christian Church when her mother fell ill and the church offered aid to those who would convert. She chose to be baptized under a new name, Bernadette Mary, and then fought for the church in the following crusade against monsters. Her chosen patron was Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, one of the ancient saints from the days of yore, even beyond the Age of Darkness.   Like many other members of the Judeo-Christian Church's crusade, she was viewed as a possible contender in The Dark Prophecy. However, it made made apparent through her group's tragic end that labelled them as prophetical apostates, although they are still recognized in Sainthood by the Judeo-Christian Church. They were heroes fighting against the monsters that rose and bred through the Age of Monsters, but they were also conquerors who drastically aided in the expansion of Arcane.   Saint Bernadette made it a point in her life after the tragic death of her party members to take care of their orphaned children; after seeing how many families were torn apart by war, she started her own monastery and orphanage for lost lambs, wher she hoped the true heroes of the prophecy would be born in tragedy dare struck.   Saint Bernadette is remembered to this day as the Patron Saint of Motherhood, Honor, and Bravery in the world of Thrae. Her actions as a hero in the Age of Saints are forever embedded in the annals of history. From her humbled origins came the great motto:
"Anyone can become a hero,"
She was only a commoner, but through her preservation and pure battle instinct, she climbed rank, gathered prestige, and established one of the most renown systems of wardship in the country of Arcane. It is through her actions that the foundation of modern day Arcane was made, not to mention her very own monastery, St. Bernadette's Monastery, which has some rather dastardly secrets in how it keeps Arcane afloat and prosperous by producing 'heroes'.   Her birthday, December 25th 2890 AT, is now celebrated as a religious holiday that replaced a holiday of yore, called "Christmas", it is now called Bernadette's Day.
