Yorta Culture

Yorta is a common name for the general half-elf/halfling cuture that dominates the Southern and Western areas of Aifas, containing the Dominion of Tiorvia, Grand Duchy of Numash, and Joenese Kingdom.   Dominant religions are Church of Kelja and Church of Five.

Calendar:

The year in Yorta culture is reckoned on a solar calendar. The solar year is divided in 8, with the year turning on the Winter Solstice. The year is appromitely 364 days long, so days are added to these general guidelines.   Generally, the Priesthood of Kelja determines when the Solstices and Equinoxs will fall.
Name Time
Solstice Falling Winter Solstice + 44
Spring Rising +45 to Spring Equinox
Spring Falling Equinox +44
Summer Rising +45 to Summer Solstice
Summer Falling Summer Solstice +44
Autumn Rising +45 to Fall Equinox
Autumn Falling Equinox + 44

Yorta culture follows a six day week.   For followers of the Church of Kelja and those in territories that are dominantly Keljan, the days are Keljaday, Drothaday, Ontorday, Jowenday, Huiday, and All Gods Day.   Solstices and Equinoxes are not considered "days" as such. If it is Huiday the day before the Equinox, it is All Gods the day after the Equinox.
