Divine Races

Those that were born from the whim of the Gods are both blessed and cursed. In exchange for the divine power and protection, they received their wills are moulded and shackled to that of their creator.
— High Sage Malin
Divine Races are those that were created by a god in their own image, and by doing so imparted some of their divine essence into them. There are only 5 races who have Divine status these are:
  • Humans- created by the God Ferun, who was later slain for his actions, resulting in humans being freed from him divine influence.
  • Faekin - the oldest of the Divine Races the Faeken were created by Enfaelia. Members of this race are known to be heavily influenced by the environment they live in.
  • Teresh - Born from stone by Grophor, this subterreanian race is known for its stubborn nature and skill in forging
  • Drakin - The slave race for the dragon God Norix, known for their powerful breath weapons and thick protective scales
  • Berrek - The youngest of the Divine races. Born from the blood of Berthor and known for their lust for violence and war.

Divine Link

Due to their strong link to a God the divine races are able to use divine magic from birth. However for humans this ability has mostly been lost with only the Thaumen ancestry having a strong enough connection to do so. This is due to the human's creator god Ferun being killed by Grophor and Enfaelia due to his actions in creating humans. Another Race with limited use of Divine magic is the Berrek who's god does not grant them the use of his magic. Instead, he allows them to channel his physical prowess.
This divine link however, allows the God to infuence the will of their creations. This means individuals of divine races are magically compelled to think and act in a certain way. One could consider them an extention of their God's will. Once again humans do not function this way due to their god being dead. This has enabled them to choose their own gods to follow as well as giving them true free will like those among the New Races.

End of the Divine Races

Upon the death of Ferun and the creation of the Great Barrier it became impossible for Gods to create new Divine Races. This was because of the barrier's effect of blocking the Gods from directly interacting with the Mortal realms. This however did not stop new races from forming. These New Races can be created, however, any ties that might be present in a Divine race cannot be formed and as such all New Races lack the ability to innately cast divine magic. This lack of connection however, means that they are not influenced by their creator god and are thus free to live their lives as they choose.
