High Men are taller and more long-lived than Common Men. It is widely believed that they are descended from a long-ago commingling of Elves and Men, and that this touch of Elvish blood explains their physical and cultural elevation above the common run of Men; although this blood line is diluted enough that they are still distinct from Half-Elves. Others believe High Men are blessed with the blood of the gods.
High Men are exceptional warriors and builders of civilizations, and many Common Men find them proud and haughty. Although they are most at home in the great cities that they build, High Men are just as adaptable as Common Men, and they may be found in a wide variety of environments and circumstances.
Mixed Men are the result of a union between a Highman and a Common Man.
Basic Information
High Men are taller and more sturdily built than their Common cousins. They are broader and more square in the shoulders and thicker in the limbs.
Civilization and Culture
High Men are monogamous, and it is very common among High Men in particular to pursue relationships with other races.
Rich and well made, with elaborate collars. The High Men in warmer climates wear light tunics and often go without leggings. Those of colder areas wear more. They usually favor feathers and white symbols on dark fields.
High Men are well organized, comfortable, and centered around cosmopolitan cities and towns. They are traditional and well-educated - their early days are filled with learning.
High Men have often found enemies of Hillmen and the Orcs. Other than these groups, however, the High Men are very accepting of other cultures and races.
