Skærskjöld, Shield of the Valkyries

Skærskjöld is an ancestral shield of the House of Thorvald that is wielded by the most talented shieldmaidens of the house. The shield has been wielded by the shieldmaidens of the house for generations and was said to be gifted to Thorvald’s eldest daughter by the valkyries. It is a large round metal shield with runic-type designs that go across the center. The metal that makes up the base is a dark blue that has small flecks of glittering light that look like the stars and the metal that makes up the rim and the runic designs are a bright white metal that sometimes flashes bright lights outwards.
Skærskjöld is known to have protective magics and magics that allow the wielder to blind nearby people with a flash of white light.

While holding this shield, you have a bonus to AC of +1. This bonus is addition to the shield’s normal bonus to AC.

While holding this shield, you can speak its command word as a bonus action to cause the front of the shield to flash a blinding white light. Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you must make a Constitution saving throw against DC 13. Each creature who fails the saving throw is blinded for 1 minute. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, the effect ends. The shield can’t be used this way again until the next dawn.
