In order to make a transition of an object, person, or anything from a universe of one dimensional order to a universe of a different dimensional order, a miniverse can be created using magic. It can also serve as a temporary holding space for other kinds of physical or magical differences.
To make a miniverse, however, the spellcaster must "borrow" from a higher dimension to do it. And since the highest known non-temporal dimension is five, only four dimensional universes and lower can be manipulated. This is accomplished using Potter's 9¾th Law of the Conservation of Quantum Dimensional Physics.
