Brigid

Goddess of spring and life (a.k.a. the High One, the Exhalted One)

Many tales existed of strangers who came to Brigid, asking for her blessings, her inspiration, and her healing, those with good intentions and who are smart and wise are given what they ask or need while those who lack these things, get her gifts at a price to learn a lesson. They will only get what they need in order to become better people.
Sometimes, besides the already extensive list of things attributed to her, Brigid is hailed as a goddess of cattle due to the many beasts under her care. These beasts include:
Brig came and keened for her son. At first, she shrieked. In the end, she wept. Then for the first time weeping and shrieking were heard in Ireland.

Divine Domains

Brigid is a what is referred to as a triple goddess. It is almost as if there are three different entities with the same name ruling over different domain's, yet it is the same person.
Brigid is the main goddess of spring, fertility and life in one version. In another, she's the goddess of poetry, healing, smithing and fire. But she's also a goddess of water wells and rivers, of passion and of invention. Many theorise that part of her remarkable around nature is due to her being the daughter of the Dagda, the master of magic and mysticism.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Brigid cross. It is a pinwheel-like construction made of glass-like material. People often hang it above their doorway and it is especially common around Imbolc.

Holidays

Her main holiday is Imbolc, on the first day of February. It is the day on which the mortal world prays for the end of winter and the return of spring.
During this holiday people make offerings of food or coins near water wells and ask for health or protection.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Brigid often appears in the form of a young girl or mother. A healthy lady full of life and unafraid of the world. Out of all the gods she has by far the most forms mimicking mortals and it is difficult to say what her true appearance is like.

Apparel & Accessories

Brigid wears light clothes that seem to emit life. In many letters, she's described as someone wearing a cloak woven from sunbeams.

Social

Family Ties

Brigid’s father is the Dagda, the Great God. It was through the Dagda that Brigid has many siblings, including her brothers Aengus and Midir. Supposedly her mother had been Danu, the mother goddess of the gods although accounts on this point differ.
Brigid has had several lovers such as her first husband Bres, with whom she had a son named Ruadán, and her second husband Tuireann, with whom she became the parent of another three sons, Brian, Iuchar, and Irchaba.
Brigid has also sworn sisterhood with the ancient and feared creator god Cailleach. They are often depicted as each other opposites and balance.

Aengus is still salty about his father giving everything to his siblings and leaving nothing for him, resulting in him having a lesser opinion of his family.
