Targos - Class Star Annihilator
Massive bioships grown by the HF star nation, Unified Arkan Council UAC.
The Targos - class largely goes against the doctrine of most other bioships. It has extremely thick armour, which is made much greater through the square cube law. It is an organic material more similar to TGX Composite. This massive amount of armour makes it nearly invincible to all weapons short of immensely high caliber superweapons such as size 60 turrets and even Trinity nukes.
The Targos - class is also equipped with a shield generator which has similar properties to mechanical ones. It has a Hardlight outer layer as well as a plasma barrier shield below it. The hardlight provides the entire ship with a resistance to antimatter warheads and similar. This is projected through a number of organs through the ship, which provides it with excellent redundancy. The genome of the Targos - class can be easily modified in a manner similar to regular, mechanical HF starships. The Harkas would use their gene splicing gland to modify the genome of bioships.
Like most UAC bioships, the Targos - class has a crew of harkas. It is not possible for other species to pilot it due to the use of harkas hivemind interfaces, but the harkas can pilot it very effectively. It likely also has a much lower crew requirement than the Cataclysm - Class Star Annihilator due to the large relative autonomy of biological organisms. The Targos also has no digestive organs, instead relying on an organic antimatter annihilation core for energy. This allows it to transport massive amounts of energy to its other organs in an organic way and it retains the massive energy signature that virtually all other HF starships have. It makes use of a biological version of QEN heatsinks to dissipate heat.
The Targos - class is smaller than the Cataclysm, but primarily serves the role of a star annihilator without having much capability of worldship or supercarrier roles. However, It is about 70 km long as opposed to the 82km length of the Cataclysm. It makes up for its comparative lack of utility by being extremely well armed, able to seed the Astromoeba to any star, as well as creating microorganisms that can destroy a biosphere of a target planet. It is rarely used for that though, limited by the ethics committee, like regular HF technologies. Due to its ultimately organic nature, the Targos - class can sometimes vary between ship and even feature such as length can differ slightly. However this is not deemed significant enough to have any noticeable impact on most battles, so this has not been fixed.
The Targos - class is armed with multiple spinal beam weapons, where each can fire at different times or all blast a single target in a single massive strike. It also has 40 size 60 turret slots, allowing it to punch well above its own already immense weight class. It has hundreds of size 10 turret hardpoints which allows it to engage swarms of smaller ships as well.
