Sphericon - Class Destroyer
Military starship used by the Karnol Caretakers.
The Sphericon - class is used by the KC as the primary destroyer. It is designed to rapidly assault the enemy, using its superior speed to evade larger weapons and saw chaos. It does, however, have some interesting design choices. Its railguns are not turret or spinally mounted, instead an entire row of these powerful railguns were mounted to its side. They are mounted in a similar way as casemate weapons but without a turret or any rotation ability. This has given it a very respectable amount of firepower even for the Hyperion Federation and HEX Mainframe. It is very fast and resilient for a ship that is so well armed.
Most of the hull is comprised of a very strong material for armour. It is best armoured around the front and sides (where its weapons are, it is likely to expose that side). One weakness is attacking it from the top/bottom as those arent so well armoured. The Sphericon class also has disc shields facing the sides and front. Although the KC are experimenting with rudimentary antimatter reactors, they still rely on very powerful cold fusion power plants. These are capable of fusing hydrogen into helium using the entire proton-proton chain process at very fast speed. The Sphericon has 4 different fusion reactors for redundancy, as well as several different hydrogen tanks. Helium is expelled form the ship as exhaust, but also used to help cool the ship down by pumping it near the engines. Due to this, it leaves the ship very hot. Similar fusion drives are used as propulsion and are capable of outputting an immense force.
