Rakth Disease

A disease originating on the Mauray continent of Euslux. It rapidly spread through the population, killing millions before starving itself due to a lack of more hosts to infect. Most people on the planet suspect the disease was a punishment from Landraz. The Hyperion Federation, which always studies the world, theorised that it evolved from a very similar thing. One change in the physiology of the bacteria made it very dangerous to the hosts.

It is primarily airborne, but can also be transmitted due to contact.

Symptoms

The initial stages have very few symptoms. This makes it hard to find. However, the later stages are very obvious as the areas around the effected persons veins turn yellow and bulges form.

Prognosis

During the first stages, it will try to set up colonies within the body near any blood vessels. If it can do this, it will reproduce and spread itself through the body using the blood veins and set up more colonies. This continues until it eats so much of the host that it can no longer survive. The disease will continue, eating the corpse. It will be contractable at this point to anyone within a large radius.
