Kurwkara - Class Cruiser

A class of large cruisers of the Grand Artanat Empire.
The Kurwkara class is comparatively large for a cruiser, being close to the decimate class in length. Unlike the Decimator - Class Cruiser (a Hyperion starship), though, it was built to be used in sheer numbers in line with GAE doctrine in general. The ship strikes an excellent balance between cost, firepower, mobility and protection which makes it excellent for a doctrine such as this. Many variants have been produced, allowing the class to perform a wide variety of roles.
Its armament consists of 4 large turrets, one mounted on the top, bottom and both sides, all mounting double barrel 800mm cannons that fire projectiles at high velocity as they use a lot of propellant. This can hear up the barrels significantly so large heatsinks similar to radiators are mounted to them as well. This gives the barrels the appearance of being very large, and makes the barrels resemble an X-wing from star wars when viewed from the 'buisness end' of the weapon. It's secondary armament varies more, being designed to deal with a wide range of threats. For example, small plasma cannons, chainguns and lasers designed to eliminate fighters. 
For protection, the ship relies on it's armour mainly. The front and turrets are the most strongly armoured areas of the ship, presenting the rear as a weak point. It has a relatively effective CIWS network which is designed to be used with support from other friendly ships nearby. 
For mobility, it relies mostly on 2 large drive thrusters on the rear as well as a number of RCS thrusters on many locations of the ship allowing it to turn, strafe and stop. Like many thrusters of similar factions, these are primarily fusion powered.
