'Sunlance' ATV
A Hyperion Federation heavy ATV.
It is significantly larger than a Positron, but is less well armed and shielded. It has improved armour, but its key feature is the missile launcher that fires 20 metre long cruiser missiles intended as a superweapon or superheavy artillery.
These missiles have a unique form of warhead. As it detonates a small antimatter core in the center, many cluster munitions are spread out in all directions. Within each cluster munition is an advanced quark-gluon plasma detonator. Extremely high energy, exotic particles are sprayed all over the target zone. The Sunlance is thus considered a largely unethical vehicle to deploy in live use, and the Hyperion Ethics Committee has banned its use in the military. Although this largely restricts its use, its missile superweapon is powerful enough to damage starships and single handedly neutralize an entire areaof enemy land forces.Despite its extreme size, the Sunlance is very fast. The crew are situated near the center where they experience little centrifugal force as it accelerates, giving it an incredible maneuverability using photon thrusters to power its movement. It is also exceptionally well protected with its shield gnerator array that projects a large bubble shield around the craft. This shield is strong enough to block some smaller starship weapons of some factions of less advanced technology. This means the Sunlance is an extremely powerful force even on its own, as it mounts a wide variety of secondary armement such as rapid fire cannons, chainguns, (regular) missiles. In the air, it can become extremely stable but is more stable and accurate when it is landed, and cannot be hit by enemy anti air easily while landed.
