Institute for the Scientific Study of Psionic Phenomena
The Institute for the Scientific Study of Psionic Phenomena (ISSPP) is the foremost research and financial association of scientists who study Psionics and Psionic Energy.
Other Organizations
This civilian organization often works in conjunction with the government organization, Project Bronze Eclipse. Psionic Institute Scientists will consult on Bronze Eclipse investigations, but the SSPP will also contract with Bronze Eclipse when security and protection might be required.
Yet, despite these collaborations, there are those in each organization that question and conflict with the other. Some scientists argue that Bronze Eclipse seeks to weaponize psionics or "shoot first and ask questions later" before a particular phenomenon is still being investigated. On the other hand, Bronze Eclipse agents often express alarm at what they may consider reckless behaviors that endanger national security. And some are suspicious of some Psionic Institute scientists for withholding information or obstruction of certain ongoing investigations.
But while there is some friction with the agency, it doesn't compare to how Institute scientists consider the Verne Corporation and their Project Pixie. The major complaint is that Pixie employees are too secretive, and that not sharing research and data is unproductive and even dangerous. Scientists criticize that corporate employees are too reckless, engaging with Psionics without regards to safety or scientific integrity. Verne Corp. argues that it is protecting proprietary trade secrets and considers PPSS scientists too cautious or even obstructive to their progress.
Structure
A Board of Directors oversees the financial, legal, and public relations aspects of the Institute. The scientific staff elects a President, Vice President, and three Science Advisors to set organizational goals and maintain a scientific focus. However the organization is more of a loose association than a strict hierarchy. Broad latitude is allowed as long as members operate with the utmost professionalism.
The Institute also assists as a center for coordination of various research projects, but only as a resource. Scientists and science groups have considerable autonomy, again so long as they maintain scientific accountability.

No, there really isn't such an institution. :D
