Because the king and queen of Akros are presumed dead and missing, the king’s niece, Taranika, acts as regent, attempting to guide the polis through what is sure to be a difficult transition. She is a firm ruler who abides by the strict martial laws and traditions that her family and the generations before her created. She is fierce, a fighter, and has been seen on the battlefield with a spear.

Personal history

Raised among the nobles of the ruling family, Taranika is the niece of the King and they've always gotten along well. She was trained up by her mother and father until they passed away defending the city from a minotaur attack, which was in actuality an invasion on Akros's part. She then spent her time getting close with the king and queen and worked closely with them as a commander of the Lukos forces that defended the polis. They became quite close and was heartbroken at their loss. She's spent the majority of her life in a military profession and dealing with the democracy and diplomacy that is required of her as Regent annoys her. She hates all the beating around the bush and wants to cut straight to the point. Other officials dislike interacting with her because she is so aggressive and shirks societal norms of hospitality.
