Session 2: Exploring Meletis Report
General Summary
Got to the tavern to sleep for the evening, escorted by guards to Brass Basilisk for safety. Meelo bought rooms. Meelo says that it would be sometime before they could get info from the prisoner. Meelo recommends the bookstore and magic shop. Phil spill beans about what brought her to Tyrael. Phile asks about Tyrael's past with Erebos. He says his god is a dick. He reveals the idea that Erebos is getting souls/dead people for more power. Meelo cautions against talking like that. Meelo wins in their game dice, and Tetra scoops up Phil and carries her to bed. Meelo tucks in Achimedies and puts up ambient dancing lights. Tetra sets Phil down. Phil explains Grinner past and how she's Tyrael's protectors. Meelo and Tyrael chat and he tells Tyrael a bit about his backstory of an iconoclast and about the run-in with the apothecary.
They long rest.
Brass Basilisk owner asks if they'll stay and yes they pay for another room. What to go to the magic shop and bookstore. Perhaps go to the healing temple of Pharika to ask about the apothecary. Processing prisoner takes two days. Meelo leads them to Mystic Mythic. They go to the shop and talk with Theo about her items. They pick up a few health potions and she describes the need for the ingredients to her potion that she needs. Says they'll give the PCs a discount for fetching them. Tetra asks about her and they talk about their background a bit and how they want to help adventures since they failed at it. They tell them where to find the ingredients. Meelo buys the brooch of shielding and Phil gets Agatha's spoon. Tries it and gets ale. They go to the book shop, Meelo gets his gay smut and Myths. The others have not arrived and Filipa is worried. They decide to check out Delayed Shipment.
They travel down the road till sunset. hawk visits Tyrael. Tetra's sword vibrates and glows, sending her the message that it's pleased with her success against the triton and sea spawn. Then it fades. Meelo and Phil's watches go by without issue.
They make their way to the town of Thesteia and speak with the barkeep/bad ale maker, Ricky, about what happened to Filippa's shipment. There is a broken cart with debris around it. He says he wasn't there, Samuel, he saw what happened. A big ol guy wrecked up the place. A big guy took the other barrel.
Ricky- balding, curly white hair sticks out the rest and squints, small man. Trading money, items for a drink. They go to speak to Samuel, who is having a louder conversation with the others. Samuel- sandy blond hair, strong farmer, blue eyes. Tetra asks for Samuel. He turns surprised and then goes on to tell them about the drunk cyclops. Tells them he's making noise in the woods nearby. They didn't know it was a cyclops. Making noise about 120ish feet away from the town center in the woods.
They know they should probably take care of the cyclops and Meelo and Tetra search through the debris around the cart to search for the missing scrolls.
The cyclops is horrendously drunk and can't truly be reasoned with in that state. The players fight him and he slips making it extremely easy to do so. After wailing on him for some time they do defeat the cyclops and search his body for the mentioned treasure.
They can take them back to her and she'll let them pick whatever scroll/book from the store for no charge and can come back to her for any future needs with some store credit- up to 100 g worth.
Rewards Granted
14 silver pieces, a blue quartz worth 10 g, a slightly slimy wand that appears to be covered in boogers- an arcane alternator: magic missile + 1 damage now radiant action to use, 7 charges that recharge 1d6 per dawn. See Alden Lascars, and he's wearing the Tank's Bracers.
Missions/Quests Completed
This cyclops/delayed shipment quest is essentially complete. They need only return the scrolls to Filippa who will give them to Meelo as a thanks if he chooses to use the 100 g credit for them.
