Sons of Chaos
The Brothers of Anarchy are a cultist group of discontents, that seek to overthrow the world's established order, they are the followers of Yfnar, the dark lord of Chaos, and he encourages them to sow chaos wherever they can.
History
This order is as old as civilization itself, it was founded in the city of endure, the first city ever founded, and it was here that the first dwarves plotted to overthrow their current monarch.
It was a time of tyranny and oppression for the dwarves, and it was then that a small group of particularly upset citizens called upon the lord of chaos for aid, and Yfnar answered.
He helped them take back their freedom, and they burned the city to the ground. It was rebuilt later, a cycle that would continue until the modern day, but the people had been freed, and that was the point.
However, Yfnar, and those who had founded this order, soon realized that wherever there are people, there will be those among them who would oppress them, and therefore, the order remained, it spread across the world, and it has stayed active wherever it was needed.
Operations
They focus on the smaller scale, they have at times attempted to overthrow kings, but this ended up doing them more harm than good, so they have chosen to fight the battles they can, and they are often the ones who sponsor an reinforce bands of freedom fighters, and they are the assassins of small town tyrants, with the occasional regional ruler being killed by them. But always do they make sure to avoid any oppressive backlash. Either by use of obscurity or simply by vanishing so thoroughly that no one knows how to find them. It is this way that they have survived, it is with this practice that they keep operating unchallenged.
Recruitment
The Brothers of Anarchy recruit from any place they can, preferably among people who have some grudge against the system, as these would more easily join their cause. But only full members gain access to the vast secrets of this order.
Most recruits are merely used as tools of destruction, they are sent on missions to kill or maim, or distract, and then abandoned just as easily, it is only those with a true passion for chaos, those who truly pledge themselves to Yfnar, who are allowed to become full members.
Inner Circle
Once one has entered the order fully, and pledged themselves to Yfnar, they are part of the inner circle of the Brotherhood. There are many such circles across the world, each completely independent and operating on its own.
These circles receive their orders from Lord Yfnar himself, but these instructions are often so up for interpretation that the order just decides to do whatever they want instead.
Any member of the circle is allowed to come up with suggestions, and make plans, as the order doesn't have any greater organizational structures, any member of the circle may also just leave and start their own circle, and recruit their own members, this is the will of Yfnar. No one shall be the slave of another.
Collaboration
although there are occasionally collaborations. However, when circles work together it is often more coincidence than intent, because their lord tends to send different circles on the same missions sometimes, not caring if they get in each other's way.
This sometimes leads to them accidentally killing each other, but other times, they discover their shared allegiance, and purpose, and decide to work together to achieve their goal.
The Fragile Mind
Those who pledge themselves to Lord Yfnar, may find him giving them instructions on occasion, he gives them visions, both visual and auditory, and he messes with their sense of reality. He also influences their minds, to make them more capable of carrying out his quest for freedom.
He does this by removing people's instinct for order and reason, which he considers to be mortal weaknesses and a danger to the freedom of the world.
This is why all members of the Brotherhood eventually go mad.
Death
It is common for Yfnar's followers to lose their life in their quest for freedom, in this case, Yfnar tends carefully to their souls, and sends them to the reapers. He doesn't Collect their souls, as he considers this a violation of their freedom, and while they are occasionally tainted by his touch, he still makes sure the Reapers find them, which is the least he can do for them, after they have spent their lives fighting the order of the world.
Feminine Insanity
While it is called the Brotherhood of Anarchy, there are plenty of female members, as women are just as capable of insanity as men, if not more so.
There have even been entirely female circles, called sisterhood's, which have operated over the long course of the orders history.
